# AnimeDoc > AnimeDoc is an anime and movie streaming API with search, details and playback endpoints, plus a free site to watch anime online. AnimeDoc (https://animedoc.cloud) is built by ResBrotherX. Developers call the REST API at https://api.animedoc.cloud with an API key — every catalog endpoint requires one. Viewers can watch anime and movies on the website itself (3 free videos as a guest, then a free account to keep watching). Content comes from licensed content providers, and the catalog can change. ## API basics - Base URL: https://api.animedoc.cloud - Auth: send your API key in the `X-API-Key` header. Get a free key at https://animedoc.cloud/docs/pricing. - Responses are JSON wrapped in {"code": 0, "message": "ok", "data": {...}}. - Rate limits: each plan has requests per day (reset 00:00 UTC) and per minute. Over a limit returns HTTP 429 with a Retry-After header and {"error": "rate_limit_exceeded" | "daily_quota_exceeded"}. Headers: X-RateLimit-Limit, X-RateLimit-Remaining, X-RateLimit-Reset. - OpenAPI spec: https://animedoc.cloud/openapi.json - Full reference in one file (all parameters, examples and errors): https://animedoc.cloud/llms-full.txt - Endpoint index (no key needed): https://api.animedoc.cloud/api/v2/ ## Endpoints - GET /api/v2/anime/home/ — Home Feed: Everything a streaming front page needs in one call: banners and ready-made catalog rows. Docs: https://animedoc.cloud/docs/endpoints/home - GET /api/v2/anime/section/ — Section: A ready-made page for one section (anime, movies, series, asian, bollywood, nollywood), or that section's filtered list. Docs: https://animedoc.cloud/docs/endpoints/section - GET /api/v2/anime/trending/ — Trending: What most people are watching right now, across anime, movies and series. Docs: https://animedoc.cloud/docs/endpoints/trending - GET /api/v2/anime/browse/ — Browse: List a channel (movies, series or animation) sorted by latest, most popular or top rated, optionally by genre and country. Docs: https://animedoc.cloud/docs/endpoints/browse - POST /api/v2/anime/suggest/ — Search Suggestions: Autocomplete: turn a partial keyword into likely search terms. Docs: https://animedoc.cloud/docs/endpoints/search-suggestions - POST /api/v2/anime/search/ — Search: Full-text catalog search across anime, animation, movies and series, with pagination. Docs: https://animedoc.cloud/docs/endpoints/search - GET /api/v2/anime/detail/ — Details: Full metadata for one title, plus its seasons and episode counts. Docs: https://animedoc.cloud/docs/endpoints/details - GET /api/v2/anime/media-sources/ — Media Sources: Playable video URLs (several resolutions) and subtitle tracks for one episode or movie. Docs: https://animedoc.cloud/docs/endpoints/media-sources - GET /api/v2/anime/stream-file/ — Stream Proxy: Streams a Media Sources URL back through AnimeDoc, with byte-range support, so players can seek. Docs: https://animedoc.cloud/docs/endpoints/stream-proxy Typical flow: Home Feed / Trending / Browse / Search (find titles) -> Details (seasons and episode counts) -> Media Sources (video URLs + subtitles) -> Stream Proxy (playback with seeking). ## Plans (USD; signed-in users are shown and charged the equivalent in their own currency) - Free: $0. 20 requests/day, 10 requests/minute.
